Traditional referral programs pay cash bonuses for signups. GameChangers' community credits system is different: credits are earned for bringing verified, active professionals to the platform, and they're redeemable for reductions in your mission contract platform fees — not cash, not arbitrary platform currency, but a direct reduction in the cost of doing business.
This creates a fundamentally different incentive structure. You're not incentivized to spam everyone in your LinkedIn network with referral links. You're incentivized to bring the people whose expertise would actually strengthen the community — because only verified, active members earn you credits.
How credits work
Each verified, active referral earns 50 community credits. 200 credits = 1% platform fee reduction. Credits stack up to a maximum of 4% reduction (800 credits, or 16 verified active referrals). Credits never expire and apply to all future mission contracts on the platform.
At the Professional tier (9% baseline fee), 16 active referrals brings your effective fee to 5%. On a $20,000 milestone, that's $800 in savings — more than 4 months of subscription cost.
The model was designed around one principle: the people who grow the network the right way should benefit directly from the platform fee model, not just earn a one-time bonus they quickly forget about.
Credits beyond referrals
Community credits can also be earned through accepted playbook contributions, published datasets with 50+ downloads, and winning hackathon challenges. The goal is to reward all forms of contribution to the platform's collective knowledge — not just person-to-person referrals.
